ABOUT

I am a science journalist and the author of Just Pills: The Extraordinary Story of A Revolution in Abortion Care, coming out nationwide on September 30, 2025 from Beacon Press. My book was shortlisted for the 2023 J. Anthony Lukas Work-In-Progress Awards from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Harvard University's Nieman Foundation for Journalism. I wrote this book over almost five years, interviewing nearly 200 people, from activists to scientists to abortion seekers, all helping me trace a global history of abortion pills stretching as far back as the late 1800s and as close to the present as the November 2024 re-election of US President Donald Trump. I hope this book about the history of abortion pills will educate, enrage, and inspire.

 

I graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Barnard College.
